Chapter Six

All hell broke lose 13 minutes into class. Here we were listening to Mrs. Walker explaining about our fundraising, when the sky immediately turned a nasty strange blood red. Well what's a girl to do? Scream? Yep, pretty much. But you see, I don't lose my cool like that, I just gasp dramatically and stare at everybody else.
In the next second, high winds started to build, waving the huge oak trees outside dangerously, as if they would snap any millisecond now.
"Oh my god! Its crazy out there!" Chelsea Hill, dumbest airhead in the world, screamed. Biggest. Understatement. Of. The. Year.
"All students and staff members please remain calm. Find the closest durable table, desk, or any object, and duck underneath it. Severe weather has taken place at Virginia Beach. Please remain calm." The Principal's voice shouted over the noise on the speaker.
Do they really expect us to be calm in a crises like this? Adults, gosh! They think they no everything! My gut (when will this stop?) gave a pounce, thumping harder than ever. As if acting like a compass, my gut guided me as I flew out of the classroom, ignoring Mrs. Walker's and the other students' shrieks. Racing down the familiar hallways, I felt adrenaline rushing through me. Chagrin and misunderstanding reached my head uncomfortably. What was wrong with me? What was wrong outside? Why did I feel as if everything was my fault? These endless question kept pestering my head as I reached the giant hall doors of the school, where my crew was standing there; worry and confusion smacked onto their faces.
"What's going on?" I shouted in panic.
"To the meadow! Now! Trust me!" Leila screamed and bolted through the doors, leading the way. Without hesitation, the crew and I sprinted our way to the meadow; ignoring thorns and roots tugging at us, making us trip, and ran after Leila. As dangerous as our trail was
